RESIDENCYPROGRAM

Forest Island Residency

The Forest Island Residency program is proposed as a twice yearly (spring and fall) month-long residency for artists and other innovative cultural contributors – writers, scientists, comedians, athletes, filmmakers, tech experts, inventors, entrepreneurs, musicians, architects, designers and civic specialists – intended to facilitate conceptual cross-pollination and to bring inspired critical dialogue to the town of Mammoth Lakes.

The program aspires to engage the participants with the local community through exhibitions and public programming appropriate to the sessions' and participants’ area of focus (public presentations, screenings, readings, community projects, etc.).

  • Three Fellows are invited to participate per session.
  • Selection takes place through the advisory board and/or a dedicated session curator.
  • Fellowships culminate in a month-long Residency period on location in Mammoth Lakes.
  • Accommodations, Studio-Space and a stipend will be available to each participating Fellow.
  • The Residency period will be be bracketed by a public Meet & Greet reception and a public Open Studios/Closing Reception/Panel Discussion with other opportunities for engagement throughout.
