The Forest Island Residency program is proposed as a twice yearly (spring and fall) month-long residency for artists and other innovative cultural contributors – writers, scientists, comedians, athletes, filmmakers, tech experts, inventors, entrepreneurs, musicians, architects, designers and civic specialists – intended to facilitate conceptual cross-pollination and to bring inspired critical dialogue to the town of Mammoth Lakes.
The program aspires to engage the participants with the local community through exhibitions and public programming appropriate to the sessions' and participants’ area of focus (public presentations, screenings, readings, community projects, etc.).
Partnerships with Mammoth Lakes Foundation and The Sierra Center along with financial support from the Town of Mammoth Lakes' Measure U have made this program possible....
The Forest Island Project's Directory of Local Resources is a list of local makers and doers, partners and people, organizations and experts, with specific knowledge and skill sets compiled as a resource for everyone and anyone who needs to figure out how to get something done or make something great happen.
